My studio is my creative haven ... it is a place where I can be inspired and express myself through my art. I thrive on developing concepts that will touch people's lives. My true passion is to inspire others with my art.
While I am designing I like to create a mood in the studio with music. I love to listen to Norah Jones. Her songs are so soothing that it makes my artistic juices flow!
I also get inspired by my favorite poet Maya Angelou. Whenever writing poems or quotes for my pieces I find her work to be most inspirational for it's heartfelt demeanor and insightfulness.
Here's one of my a favorites: I believe in living a poetic life, an artful life. Everything we do from the way we raise our children to the way we welcome our friends is part of a large canvas we are creating. - Maya Angelou
As you get to know me as an artist and my work you will learn that all of my art begins with a story. You see that all of the details that I design on my pieces have a reason for being as they help tell the story about each piece. All of my designs are created from my heart which I am honored to share with you.
Here, I am painting the butterfly artwork for my Tender Embrace Baby Collection. This art was threaded throughout product line including the packaging design for the gift box.This line is so special because it also has pieces for the parents to be. I remember the first time my husband and I first knew we were going to become parents, the joy and overwhelming feelings that we both felt is something that you always want to remember. So I designed precious shadow boxes to commemorate the occasion of becoming a mother and a father! The shadow boxes can be displayed any where in the home including the babies room because the pieces coordinate with the rest of line without being gender specific. To extend the baby line into other avenues I launched an apparel line that features the ever so popular Lamie Pie character on the clothing. Below I am drawing one of the Peace by Piece Angels. The line expresses finding peace in the simplicity of life. I thought, everyone in the world needs peace and our lives become connected through it. Each design as a whole is composed of elements that symbolize peace. As part of this line I designed inspirational angels, each one representing a different message of peace in our lives. The sentimental messages adorning the angels were written from my heart and are meant to empower each individual who receives them with a message of peace. Everyone tells me that they purchase the angels on how their messages relate to their own life or someone close them.

The Peaceful Heart Angel Story; This angel is to be given to someone with a beautiful and giving heart. Engraved on her skirt is the message, 'A Peaceful Heart overflows with joy, love and gratitude. She holds a heart locket that represents those treasured values we keep within our heart. The heart of wings that adorn her dress are symbolic of the uplifting power of peace and love. Her angel wings even form a heart shape which represents the message of peace that comes from our heart.
Each angel in the line and their message has coordinating pieces such as frames, plaques, etc. ... Notice how the Peaceful Heart design elements are repeated on the coordinating formats. The Peaceful Heart plaque is shaped as a heart and has the locket, even the base of the plaque is a heart!
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PROCESS :
First the concept ideas are illustrated into product formats. The finished drawings are than used for sculpting reference. Below you can see the actual clays of the Peaceful Heart Angel. When the clay prototype is approved a mold is made and than the piece can be mass produced. The final piece is than painted to match the illustration. This process takes months of hard work and is amazing to see!

So many people have been inspired by the empowering messages of my Peace Angels that I wanted to extended the line into apparel. You can now purchase tee-shirts, tanks and go green totes with prints of my original drawings and paintings! The artwork for the front of the garment has my signature. I've selected quality and affordable materials ensuring that the artwork would reproduce well on the various products and styles.
The Language of Love cake topper is another piece that I treasure. I wanted to design a cake topper that had a classic, elegant appeal that represented the love that the couple would cherish forever. When designing the cake topper I wanted to have the couple embrace each other and conform to a heart. If you look closely, you will see that their heads together are the top of a heart and their elbows are the bottom point of the heart. The heart being symbolic for love makes this piece very special, which is why so many people have told me that they are also displaying the piece in their home after the wedding. The entire line has a sculpted repeated rose pattern that is also symbolic for love. Most of the pieces are engraved with the romantic quote from Shakespeare " Now join your hands and with your hands your hearts." This line has coordinating pieces such as the unity candle which has a heart base and the sculpted rose pattern on the candle.
